The Capitol Hill neighborhood is the largest historic residential neighborhood in all of Washington, D.C. It is one of the oldest communities and one of the most densely populated.

Capitol Hill isn’t just a place where laws get passed in Congress and the Supreme Court; this area is one of the most popular places to live in D.C. It marks the city with infamous row houses filled by young government staffers, Millennials, and families alike.

You don’t have to be an architecture fanatic to appreciate all that Capitol Hill has to offer. Within just a few city blocks, you can see the stone turrets, ironwork, and stained glass famous in the 19th and 20th-century row houses of the area. Then you can see the Italian Renaissance
style of the Library of Congress, followed by the lush gardens of the U.S. Botanic Gardens at the base of Capitol Hill. It is here that you can get away for a peaceful escape in the middle of the city.

There’s more to Capitol Hill than just pretty buildings. There’s a ton of local restaurants that boast fresh seafood fare and long-standing bars, pubs, and cafes that will quench your thirst whenever you’re in the mood to kickback. And don’t forget shopping, it is here that you’ll find Eastern Market, East City Bookstore, boutiques and stores where you’ll find something for everybody.View Listings
