South East, D.C.

View Properties

The southeastern quadrant of Washington DC, otherwise known as Southeast, is primarily residential and sits along the banks of the Anacostia River. SE encompasses the South East Section of Capitol Hill, Barracks Row, The Navy Yard, SE Waterfront, Anacostia, Fairlawn, Twinning, Hillcrest, Fort Dupont Park, Congress Heights, and other historically rich and beautiful neighborhoods. New neighborhoods have blossomed, such as the Navy Yard over the past ten years. East of the Anacostia River offers some of the better premiers, often overlooked neighborhoods the city has to offer. The beautiful tree-lined streets, with large lots, beckons those who want a traditional neighborhood. Residents have access to Metrorail via the green line, blue and orange lines of the Metrorail system, making it convenient to commute to anywhere in the city.

An abundance of dining choices are throughout SE Washington to pop up like:

  • BusBoys and Poets
  • Agua 301
  • Blue Jacket
  • Sycamore
  • Pimento Grill (best of DC Caribbean Food)
  • Matchbox
  • Ted’s Bulletin
  • CAVA Mezze
  • Tunnicliff’s Tavern

The southeast quadrant also houses Fort Dupont Park and ice rink, the Anacostia Museum, Smithsonian Institution, an arts center, and Nationals Park, our national capital’s baseball team. Whether you appreciate outdoor recreation or historical and cultural destinations, the neighborhood offers it all. Connected to Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhood, the Southeast area of DC is highly desirable for upwardly mobile professionals from the political arena, journalists, and others. Different from neighborhoods with nightlife and urban amenities, the residential neighborhood welcomes those who come home to relax before catching the train to commute to the fast-paced, demanding career world.View Listings
